A WHOLE BODY APPROACH TO WELLNESS
As functional wellness practitioners, Drs. Nathan and Rebecca take a unique approach to getting people well. They look at the body as a whole, determine the root cause of your symptoms, and ultimately allow the body to heal itself by removing stressors and providing the support that it needs. Every plan that they put together is different, because what you need to heal will be dependent on your own body. The doctors do not merely treat or mask symptoms; because of this, not everyone is ready for this approach. THE COMPONENTS OF FUNCTIONAL WELLNESS COACHING
When the doctors are determining what you need to be well, their recommendations will span some or all of the components below. The goal is to provide you with the specific next steps to focus on so that you are equipped, not overwhelmed; reclaiming your health is a journey.
Functional Nutrition
Everything you eat is either moving your body one step toward or one step back from your health goals.
From beginners to advanced, we meet clients where they are and move them one step in the right direction toward better nutrition. The goal is to equip each individual with lifetime behavioral changes at a pace that is sustainable.
Clients accustomed to the standard American diet may start off with Paleo, while other clients may be coached through how to use ketosis as a powerful healing tool. We utilize advanced nutrition strategies based on specific health issues.
Due to the important role of nutrition in cellular healing, clients submit a one-week food diary prior to each functional wellness consultation.
Fasting Strategies
Just as proper nutrition is critical for providing the body with the fuel that it needs to heal, giving the body a rest from digestion is also a powerful tool. There are several benefits to water fasting, such as:

Lab Work and Testing
The goal of functional wellness is to identify and address the root cause of the client's symptoms. We do not treat or cover up symptoms; instead, we equip the body with the tools it needs to heal. For this reason, we often utilize blood work and testing to help identify the underlying cause. Lifestyle Recommendations
Because we take a holistic approach to wellness, we also identify and discuss two additional things with our clients.
First, we go over areas in their lives that may be holding them back from achieving their health goals. We understand that one's health is personal, and implementing changes can be an emotional process. We encourage and coach clients through the importance of having the right mindset during this process.
Second, we discuss tools and biohacks clients can incorporate into their routine to support their healing process. Following each consult, we will send our clients resources on specific biohacks we identified as being advantageous to them.
